It all began with a discovery of black pudding...
It all
Irish black pudding and the British stuff are totally different. If you didn't know this already, they're not even close.
At Varley's, we found ourselves craving the stuff once we had returned back to our home in Upminster, Essex. Not just Black Pudding, but sausages, sandwiches, unique pastries....and tea...Barry's Tea. Look, Lyons is good, but we're a Barry's family!
Varley's exists to give us all fantastic lunch options and the opportunity to enjoy famous Irish brands and produce at home, here in the UK. In our shop on Station Road in Upminster, you'll find Barry's Tea, Clonakilty meats and Tayto crisps to name a few.

Green Ocean Coffee
We are incredibly proud to have partnered with Green Ocean Coffee in Dublin, who provide all of our coffee beans. We use their signature, award winning 'Carrickwee' blend in all of our coffees.
Not only are the coffee beans awesome, so is the company. Founder David Lawlor established Green Ocean in order to to do his bit to help restore Ocean sea beds and Oyster farms in Dublin Bay and the Atlantic in County Mayo.
For every Kilogram that we buy, one Euro goes to the foundation to help David and his endeavours.
The VARLEYS Experience
We'll be totally honest with you, visiting Varley's is a bit unique. We will do absolutely everything we can to meet your needs when you visit.
We appreciate that most people just want a decent cup of coffee or tea. We won't offer you 5 different types of bean, but our knowledge is there. We'll just do it. Apologies if it takes longer than 30 seconds to make your drink. A good cup should take 30 seconds to make. A great cup, takes a minute.
Water is free, just ask.
We actively welcome children and dogs, so long as their parents and owners are well behaved!
One final note...
Guinness is wonderful. Whiskey is wonderful. Pubs are wonderful. If you'd like a Guinness or a whiskey, please visit your local pub....once you've bought your chicken fillet rolls, Barry's Tea and Soda bread from us.
